We are seeing reports of Word for Mac 2016 crashing in the following scenario: The crash happens when you are using custom keyboard layouts after installing the latest Office for Mac 2016 update (15.17). Word for Mac 2016 crashes when using custom keyboard layouts.

To clean this up, do the following: • Quit from all Mac Office Applications, except for OneNote • In OneNote, sign out. There should be only a couple items, one for each account you have logged into. • The name will be a long alpha-numeric code and the kind will start with “MicrosoftOffice15” • Delete these items.
