Important: For highest performance and reliability of your Western Digital hard drive, we recommend that you install the latest service pack, updates, and/or hotfixes for your computer hardware and Operating System. For Windows 2000, Vista, XP: • Turn on your computer system and allow it to boot to the desktop. • Connect the power cord and USB cable to the external hard drive.

A drive icon will be mounted to the desktop and the drive will be ready for use. Please note, it may take up to 1 minute for the hard drive to mount to the Mac desktop.
