I continued my troubleshooting at another location with an HP5500N which had the same problem. I even tried the reset printers option in Printer Setup.
The below advise fixed my problem. I'll try adding my Dell 3100CN as soon as I get the office too see if it works there--I am optimisitic. And will advise.
