I just got Outlook 2011 for Mac, and when I set up my gmail account in Outlook, it automatically defaulted to an IMAP account without my knowledge and downloaded all 5000 email headers. So then I went into my Gmail setttings and disabled IMAP and enabled POP, and it downloaded all the emails in their entirety.

Then the next day I noticed that no email was arriving, and when I checked the Gmail settings on the website, it had gone back to 'enable IMAP' without my having done anything. I changed it back to the POP settings, and it re-downloaded all 500 emails! This has now happened 3 times. It seems that Gmail really doesn't want users to enable POP accounts and leave the messages on the Gmail server. Powershell ise for mac os sierra. How do I get the POP settings to stay that way????
