Chromecast For Mac Not Working
They keep telling me the requirements were windows 7. I have been to the IT department and talked with the 'boss' as well as the tech guys. Have wifi but can't connect to internet. Either way you have to join the network.
It's a different routine with Youtube and other browser apps - they just pass on the ip address and Chromecast takes over the connection/streaming. That's why you can turn off your laptop and it carries on streaming/playing via your router/modem. Popcorn does the bittorrent download client, connection and streaming to chromecast itself: Turn it off and the movie stops. As Chromecast generally works with Popcorntime (mine's been working for over 12 months without much hassle) - you're looking for something in your set-up that is blocking or is incompatible with CC. It won't be PT - or at least, if it's a corrupt PT file, you can do a clean install and it should work again. Windows or Mac? Has it ever worked for you?
- previous to an upgrade/update; or a previous version? Any anti-virus or third party network/firewall apps?
Have you tried deleting the support folder/folders and rebooting? Well folks, since I have the same problem, I managed to use an alternate way to send the videos from popcorn time to my chromecast. I use the app Videostream on my computer. So, all you need to do is: 1) Play a movie/tv show on Popcorntime CE as if you would watch it on your computer. DO NOT SEND IT TO CHROMECAST.
2) Go to the temporary folder of popcorn time where it stores the torrents and the video file. 3) Open Videostream 4) Through Videostrem, select the folder and the video that you are trying to watch and it will send it to the Chromecast for you.
Plan: Premium Country: USA Device: Macbook Pro mid 2015. This is my first time having to use Chromecast and I'm having trouble it working seamlessly. The Spotify desktop app still doesn't recognize it in the devices list.
How to use my passport for mac. Running Sierra 10.12 with a new 3TB My Book for Mac on a late 2015 iMac. This is my second new 3TB WD drive. The first gave issues accessing folders under Time Machine and failed a Complete Drive Test.
I know you're gonna lose a little bit more time by doing this, but it is a temporary solution until they fix this Chromecast malfunction through the PopcornTime app.
Editor's note: This article was updated on August 15, 2017 with up-to-date app links and pricing information. Apple believes that apps are the future of television, and maybe they’re right: The Apple TV’s selection of apps and games is ever expanding, and you can tap into a wide array of streaming services and traditional network apps with ease. It makes cutting the cord seem even easier than ever, and cable and satellite subscribers see a lot of added benefits too.
But at $149 for the base 32GB model, the Apple TV requires a solid upfront investment to dig into this app-centric TV vision that Apple is promoting—particularly since a lot of other devices large and small can access many of those same services. That might be worth the expense for some, but not everyone needs another way to run apps and games. What about the, then? Google’s tiny dongle might seem like an ideal Android accessory, given its heritage, but it also works with iPhone and has many of the same services and apps available. It’s a different kind of TV streaming experience, using your iPhone and its existing apps to “cast” content wirelessly onto the big screen—but at $35, it might get the job done for many iPhone users who don’t want to shell out for something more advanced. Here’s an updated look at what the Chromecast can do with the iPhone and how it compares to the Apple TV in terms of hardware, which features are shared between the devices, and how much functionality you lose with the bargain alternative.
