Hello, today i started working in a new office, that uses a Ricoh Aficio MP C4500 printer and everyone in the office uses windows computers. I have a Mac Book Pro 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, on it, I am running Mac OSX 10.6.6.

When I have tried to print several different file types such as.pdf,.doc,.txt, etc. The printer prints out usually 20 pages that are all coded or blank and nothing similar to what i printed out. I'm guessing this is due to the printer not understanding the language of the data i send to it.I know that i am successfully connecting to the right printer. I've visited several webpages that discuss how to fix the issue but none of them have worked. I have tried downloading the mac osx 10.5 drivers from the Ricoh website(they didnt have 10.6) that didn't work and when i printed i still got all blank/coded pages. Free ti84 emulator mac. Next I went I tried typing the the printer IP address to my browser url. That didn't help.

Also, when printing each time i tried all of the different protocols, that didnt make a difference. If you can advise, it would be much appreciated!

We have three Savin/Ricoh MFP printers in our facility. The simplest approach is to use the Generic PCL printer driver built into the Mac OS X system. Determine the IP address for your printer. On your Mac Select Printer & Scanners Click '+' to add printer Choose the IP option Key in the IP Address For the Protocol: Choose HP JetDirect Socket Queue: Remains Blank Change the Name to a suitable name Under use: Choose Generic PCL Printer. Based on your results it would suggest that this model does not support Postscript. Checking the Ricoh web site there is mention of Postscript being optional. So if the machine does not have Postscript, then none of the Mac OS X drivers from Ricoh will work - they will have been written for Postscript. So with PCL5c and PCL6 being supported by default I would expect the pxlmono to work. But with this giving a similar result then I wonder if there is something else causing the incorrect output.

As a test you could try selecting Generic PCL Laser Printer in the Print Using menu. This will only print in b&w but at least it will give an idea if something else could be fault.
