PowerPoint for Mac Last week, Microsoft launched Office 365 on the Apple Mac App Store. This means you can download apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook and OneDrive from the Mac App Store. It’s worth mentioning that these apps are the same ones that are in the Microsoft Store. Microsoft originally made the announcement about the productivity suite rolling out on the App Store during Worldwide Developers Conference back in June 2018. One of the biggest benefits of downloading these apps from the Mac App Store is that it will be easier to keep it up-to-date as new releases are pushed out.

And users can sign up for Office 365 after downloading the apps. “We are excited to welcome Microsoft Office 365 to the all new Mac App Store in macOS Mojave,” said Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller in a statement. “Apple and Microsoft have worked together to bring great Office productivity to Mac users from the very beginning. Now, with Office 365 on the Mac App Store, it’s easier than ever to get the latest and best version of Office 365 for Mac, iPad and iPhone.” Project Torino Expansion A couple of years ago, Microsoft launched a physical programming language to help visually impaired kids how to program code. This program — which is known as Project Torino — was actually just in experiment mode in the United Kingdom.

Fortunately, that the research and technology for Torino (now known as Code Jumper) is being passed to American Printing House for the Blind, a nonprofit based in Louisville, Kentucky. And the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) will be expanding Code Jumper to the United States, Canada, Australia and India by the end of the year. And over the next five years, Code Jump will be expanded all across the globe. Code Jumper features block coding and a drag and drop interface. To create programs, the physical language involves connecting brightly colored plastic pods with thick white wires and adjusting buttons and knobs.

The physical components are used to create computer programs to make music and tell stories. The goal of the program is not to just introduce kids to coding. But it will give them the underlying skills for pursuing careers in computer science. “This is an opportunity for thousands of people to have meaningful and well-paying jobs,” said APH’s director of technology and product research Larry Skutchan in a statement.
