Can You Use A Mac Desktop As A Tv For An Xbox

It is not possible to have the Xbox One, or any external device, output video to the MacBook display via thunderbolt (there are other ways, which I will get to). Now if you really want to game on your MacBook screen you can pick up a video capture card, which will plug in via USB and come with software to make it run.

Connect your Xbox to the network. You can either do this via an ethernet cable which can be directly plugged from the Xbox to the router or by using a wireless router and wireless card. Test your Xbox network connections if it is connecting. If it does then you are on the network.

Turn on your Windows PC (personal computer). Make sure that you have Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). If you do not, go ahead and download that by going to windows update, go to downloads, and look for Windows XP SP2 and download it. Open your Windows Media Player. You should have version 11 for this to work. If you have the older version, you can go ahead and upgrade your windows media player version by going to the windows update for Microsoft and search for the upgrade then click it to download for free. Go to Library in Windows Media Player.

How to improve your mac for editing. Go to Media Sharing. Check the box in front of Share My Media, then click on OK. Click the console once it shows up. Then select 'allow.' Go to Media section of your Xbox.

Select from choices on the menu, from pictures, music or videos. Select on what picture, music or video to play. You should see the pictures, music or movie on your television which is hooked up to your Xbox.

The 360 is putting out (digital, when using HDMI) video and audio signals in order to produce the graphics and sound that we are all so familiar with these days. I believe the iMac has a mini-DVI port for use with external displays, but, there is no input port to complement it. It should have a line-in port for audio, but that's only the 3mm jack, no? Not gonna work with your regular cables. I'm afraid you're out of luck there. The iMac LCD is built into the computer, so I'm thinking you won't be able to use it with any other electronics of this nature.

Now what you could do is buy a pair of speakers and find yourself an external display. Then go to Circuity City or Best Buy, or GameStop if they have it, and buy the 360 VGA adapter.

Sells for around $30-$40 by the looks of it, so it won't run you up too much provided that you have the other equipment to work with. The only problem I've seen with this adapter is connecting the audio ends to speakers, but all you should need is another adapter or speakers with the specified ports. I have neither, so I can't really say.

I've always preferred using my Xbox on a 30-inch screen or larger running at 1080p. Why use it in your room? Just turn your iMac around and rent some movies on iTunes. But if you prefer the Marketplace, I can understand that.

In that case, why not haul your TV in there too? All of this, and a mini-fridge, makes the perfect gamer's lair/den/lounge you could need. Sorry I could not offer a more 'positive' answer. Hope this helped.

1st thing: You won't be able to play the Xbox on your iMac directly, there's just no way to connect the two. What was suggested in the second post was to get an external computer monitor or smaller TV and use that for video and audio, over the HDMI port (Google pictures on the Internet, you'll recognize it) or using a VGA adapter. If you use a TV, it should have an HDMI port for video and audio input, and if you're using a computer monitor, you'll either have to get an Xbox VGA adapter or an HDMI to DVI adapter, depending on the monitor. Just to clear some of those terms up: DVI is a wider, more square port than VGA, has more pins in it, and is a totally digital connection. VGA is more common, but only carries analog video.
